Kevin Garnett sends San Antonio a message about Victor Wembanyama. Are they listening?


Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett wants to spend more time with San Antonio Spurs All-Star Victor Vembanyama. Garnett is blown away by Spurs All-Star gamesand the 2008 champion is asking San Antonio for 1-on-1 sessions with the young phenom. Kevin spent time with Victor during the off-season.

However, for Garnett, there was not enough timenor did the two get a chance to hit the gym, he said, according to KG Certified’s Ticket & The Truth with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

“Spurs, if you’re all listening, I’d love to get in there and have a session with him,” Garnett said. “He’s trying to get to a place of dominance. That’s what I see him doing when we get in the gym, I want to just be able to help him do that.”

Garnett says much of his conversations with Vembanyama focused on his mental focus and the right mindset to take his game to new heights.

“We didn’t do anything. He wanted an exchange, and it was more like an introduction (expletive). He’s on a journey to seek knowledge,” Garnett said. “He doesn’t want to be in that French player box, blah, blah, blah. He’s trying to break that whole narrative. He’s changing the way we look at position five.”

“I talked to him about simplifying things and dealing with the space. He wants to be something outside the box. He’s going to be something different that we’ve never seen,” Garnett concluded.

Vembanjama and Spurs have won five of their last seven games.

Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett has tipped off Spurs winger Victor Wembanyama. Vembanjama spends his time playing pick-up in Los Angeles with fellow NBA players would help tighten it up Wemby up, according to Garnett, who gave his advice, according to KG Certified.

“Instead of going overseas when you come back from vacation, because you know what home is like, right, you were born and raised there,” Garnett said. “You can always come home. Spend the summer in LA, bro, go to UCLA because you know what’s there? Everything you’re looking for. Go to UCLA and play against that caliber of s—t for a whole week and see how you get out of there.”

Vembanjama and Spurs host the Wizards on Thursday.
