Kike Hernandez explains what happened in the game-winning Game 6
The Los Angeles Dodgers were looking at the possibility of losing Game 6 in 2025 World Series in the heartiest way imaginable, as they allowed the first two hitters to enter the game to get the Toronto Blue Jays on base. in fact Addison Barger is almost in run to cut the deficit to one – just for the ground rule to bail out the Dodgers and keep runners on second and third.
And just as further proof that the baseball gods are on the Dodgers’ side, Kike Hernandez won the second out of the inning on Andres Gimenez’s shallow fly ball and proceeded to strike out the ultra-aggressive Barger at second base to end the game, preserving LA’s 3-1 lead on the night and extending the World Series to a seventh game in the process.
After the game, Hernandez spoke with Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports and spoiled from his perspective what happened near the end of the game.
“I played a little shallower than (they) wanted. I thought, ‘You know what, I’m going to play really shallow.’ I mean, if (Jimenez) hits over my head, kudos to him. I feel his pop is more on the pull side. I could kind of hear the bat snap, even with that crowd. “The crazy thing is, I had no idea where the ball was because it was in the lights the whole time,” Hernandez said.

Hernandez then credited Miguel Rojas for picking a very difficult throw to end the game for the Dodgers.
“I thought I jumped him long. But I gave him a very hard throw to catch. I think it was a better choice (by Rojas) than it was a play on my part,” Hernandez added.
The Dodgers keep their cool as the World Series comes down to a decisive Game 7

The Dodgers showed the composure of a veteran World Series-winning team with the way they handled adversity in Game 7. Many teams would have given up in that situation, but Justin Dean did a great job by calling a dead ball on Barger’s double, and Hernandez made a heads-up play to keep the second throw to second after the play.
Shohei Ohtani will be on the mound for the Dodgers in Game 7; can he get LA over the hump once again?
