Killian Hayes gets another chance with the Kings

Killian HayesSacramento is trying a new bet on the Frenchman. According to ESPNTHE Kings have signed Killian Hayes ten days, just to add another benchmarkless creator to a decimated rotation.

At 24, the seventh pick in the 2020 draft hasn’t stepped foot in the NBA since his brief stint in Brooklyn in February 2025, but via a 10-day contract. Cut from Detroit a year earlier, Killian Hayes shines since in the G-Leaguewaiting for a major league team to offer him an opportunity…

This time, Sacramento is doing it, at a time when the franchise is going through a nightmare sequence (16 straight losses, a franchise record) and must deal with the end of the season Domantas Sabonis, Zach Lavin or even De’Andre Hunter. To aim for the “lottery” and the best possible Draft pick.

Killian Hayes’ profile therefore fits the immediate need: a leader capable of organizing, defending and making others play. The question, as it has been since his arrival in the NBA, will be one of address. Despite his height (1m96) and passing skills, the Frenchman never adapted his outside shot. Even in the G-League, despite his good plays in the area, he’s still averaging just 32% from long range.

If he can convince himself in Sacramento, a second ten-day contract (or even a spot for the rest of the season) could arrive quickly. Otherwise, it will simply be another step on a path already made of reminders.
