Kobe Bryant, Torey Horton cut injury report for Rams game

The Seattle Seahawks enter a high-stakes Week 11 showdown at the Los Angeles Rams with a couple of worrisome names on the injury report: safety Kobe Bryant and wide receiver Torey Horton. Horton was demoted to non-participant on Thursday, while Bryant missed practice earlier this week due to personal matters, leaving his status uncertain heading into kickoff.

Horton’s downgrade hurts because the rookie has already shown playmaking ability this season. The Colorado State product has 13 catches for 161 yards and five touchdowns, per ESPN, and has also made noise on special teams, including a long comeback that electrified the crowd in Seattle. Its absence would reduce a a receiving room that relies heavily on Jakon Smith-Njigba and complementary goals.

Kobe Bryant’s DNP came with few public details on Wednesday, with the team citing his reason as a personal matter and Seattle not immediately ruling him out for Sunday. Bryant has been a steady presence in the backfield, recording two interceptions this year and serving as a physical defender. His loss would force defensive coordinator Aden Durde to shift coverage responsibilities against a Rams offense that mixes veteran skill with young playmakers.

Both teams are near the top of the NFC West, and this matchup could decide control of the division. The Rams are matchup problems all over the place, so every bit of depth counts. Seattle’s coaches will closely monitor Friday’s practice reports before issuing an update on the game’s status; Horton’s groin and calf problems in particular are ones that can be left without a proper recovery period.

If Horton can’t go, expect Jake Bobo, Cooper Kupp and Cody White to shoulder more than route running and slot workwhile cross-training safeties like Julian Love or rookies could see tougher snaps if Bryant can’t play. Head coach Mike McDonald has to balance short-term availability with long-term health, and given how tight this division is, those small picks will carry a lot of weight. Look for the official marks after practice on Friday.
