Kobe White will miss the start of the season with a calf injury

As fans have been waiting to hear news regarding the injury of Chicago Bulls guard Kobe Whitethe latest is likely to dampen spirits as he is set to miss the start of the season with a calf problem, as confirmed by the team. While it was upbeat updates with Bulls starthe team seems to be playing it safe with their key quarterback.

The team would take to social media to say that while White has “continued his basketball activities on the court” and is progressing through the process, he will be “reassessed in two weeks.”

“Medical update: Kobe White has resumed on-court basketball activities and continues to progress in the recovery phase for his right calf strain. White will be re-evaluated in two weeks,” the team wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

While Chicago hasn’t said it verbatim, White will miss the opener, which is Wednesday, and will likely miss the first six games if the two weeks mentioned in the announcement end on Nov. 3. However, it is a good sign that White has recently returned to training, but he wouldn’t even have a 100 percent answer on making openers, according to Bleacher Nation.

“We’ll see. We’ll see. I’m still growing,” White said Saturday. “This is the first time I’ve been up and down in a month and a half, since August. It’s in the works. It’s definitely being talked about, I’m playing in the season opener, so we’ll see.”

With rumors that White and the Bulls are planning a new dealstar is unlikely to rush back to prevent another calf injury after a career year in which he averaged 20.4 points per game. Fortunately, White is making progress as he returns to training, although one has to wonder if there was a setback as it was expected that he would be ready to open on Wednesday.

“Kobe White is working out today,” Chicago reporter KC Johnson wrote on X on Saturday. “Coach Billy Donovan said last week that the team would use the time between the preseason finale and the regular season opener to get him in touch and get him pumped up. Assuming no downtime, White is expected to play against the Pistons.”

It remains to be seen when White will return, but the Bulls open the season on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons.
