Kyle Kuzma going through it again. Last season, Kuzma found himself the subject of trade rumors when he was a member of the Washington Wizards. Kuzma was traded before the trade deadline last season, being moved to the Milwaukee Bucks. now, Kuzma is back on the trading block aamid Giannis Antetokounmpo trade rumors.
Kuzma talked about fighting trade rumors. Having been in the league for about nine years now, the Bucks forward is used to the noise.
“This is the ninth year,” Kuzma said in his postgame interview following the Bucks’ win over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. “I’ve been around the trade deadline since I came to the NBA. We’re all human, and you can’t really run away from it, you can’t run away from negotiations, you can’t run away from litigation … if you get traded the next day.
Kuzma is no stranger to trading rumors. Shortly after being drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017, Kuzma was the subject of rumors as a potential trade chip for a potential second star behind LeBron James. The forward eventually survived the trade rumors after LA traded for Anthony Davis, and Kuzma became an integral part of the Lakers’ championship run in 2020. However, Kuzma was traded to the Wizards the following year for Russell Westbrook.
Kuzma spent the next four years with the Wizards. The forward continued to be the subject of trade rumors in Washington, especially due to his lack of interest in the team. Kuzma was eventually traded to the Bucks during 2025 NBA trade deadline. Kuzma is averaging 13.7 points per game as a member of the Bucks.
With Antetokounmpo’s departure from Milwaukee seemingly imminent, the Bucks are evaluating the rest of their roster. Kuzma is one of the trade candidates. Still, the veteran forward is unlikely to feature in Milwaukee’s future plans. We’ll see if Kuzma plays for another team after Thursday’s trade deadline.
