LA re-signs key offseason acquisition

The Los Angeles Rams ensured the breakout star wouldn’t hit the open market by finalizing a new deal that will keep standout guard Nate Landman in town. Retaining the fourth-year veteran secures one of the league’s most productive defenders and highlights an offseason that helped lift the Rams defense 2025 into one of the team’s greatest strengths. It also signals that the linebacker is now viewed as a long-term cornerstone rather than a short-term bargain.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport opened his X (formerly known as Twitter) account on Saturday report that the Rams moved quickly to bring back one of their top finds from last offseason in time for a long run, noting that the news was first reported in a post by SportsTrust Advisors, a linebacker agency.
“The #Rams made one of their best offseason acquisitions.”
Rapoport also stepped onto the platform with details on the agreement.
“#Rams and LB Nate Landman agreed to terms on three-year, $22.5M contract, $15.6M guaranteed, source said. He played under $1.1M veteran’s minimum contract this year.”
The 27-year-old linebacker’s rise makes this new deal one of the clearest success stories in LA’s offseason acquisition strategy. After arriving from the Atlanta Falcons on a veteran’s minimum contract, he quickly assumed a starting role in the middle of the Rams’ defense and became the unit’s voice on the field. His production matched the responsibilities, piling up the offense, forcing fumbles and delivering steady snaps in coverage that gave the coaching staff a reliable tone-setter at all three levels.
For the Rams organization, resigning Landman before free action it keeps the leader in place for the next three seasons and sends the message that playing at a high level is rewarded. For the linebacker, the deal turns a short-term bet on himself into a long-awaited safety. With a primetime matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on deck, LA can now focus on the court knowing that a key piece of the future defense is locked up.
