Lakers news: LeBron James shuts down Chris Paul question

While some speculated that it was The Lakers could get Chris Paul after the Clippers sent him home, James would share his thoughts on his friend’s departure.
Speaking to the media, James was asked by Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints if he had a chance to speak with Paul after the situation ended with the Clippers, to which the star responded: “No, I didn’t talk to him.” In the next question asked by Azarly if he was surprised by how events played out, James would have a clear answer.
“It’s not for me to comment. It’s none of my business,” James said.
He asked LeBron James if he had a chance to talk to Chris Paul after the Clippers sent him home.

While James didn’t have a detailed answer about Paul’s situation, the basketball world could take it a number of ways, with one theory being that he wants to hold back any criticism of the Clippers so the Lakers can add the veteran guard at some point. However, that could just be a blunt response from James telling it like it is.
In any case, if Los Angeles were interested in adding Paul, since they have an open roster spot, the team would not be able to acquire him until January 19th. Paul’s family is in the Los Angeles area, which made the Clippers a perfect destination along with his previous familiarity, but now that he’s been sent home, he could look for a new team or retire.
The Lakers help his situation in terms of location and also a potential chance to compete for a title that has eluded him throughout his career.
