The Lakers lead the series 153-86. Finally, they went 3-1 against the Clippers last season. But the Clippers are 7-3 in their last 10 games against the Lakers. This will be the first meeting between the Lakers and Clippers this season and the start of a brand new rivalry as the Lakers get their first look at Intuit.

Why the Lakers could cover the spread/win

Unfortunately, the defense was also a problem, and Austin Reeves took charge for woes. The Lakers are 28th in rebounding and 18th in blocked shots, highlighting some lingering issues. Despite these problems, the Lakers still hold the lead in the Pacific Division and enter this game with a record of 22-17. Additionally, they are currently tied for fifth place in the Western Conference.

Anthony Davis did not play on Friday, as he was a late scratch due to a foot injury. Significantly, expect him to be a game-time decision again unless the Lakers release him early. Davis has been excellent this season, averaging 25.8 points and 11.9 rebounds per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the floor.

LeBron James also has a foot injury, but he played. The Clippers need to contain James and Reaves while forcing them to release to their teammates. If Davis plays, Zubac must overcome this difficult task and not let him pass. Whoever plays the best in the second quarter will have all the momentum, which means the bench has to show up to play.

The Clippers will cover the spread if they can score early and keep the Lakers on their heels. Next, they need to win the scrimmage and prevent the Lakers from getting easy shots.
