LaMelo Ball had Eric Collins begging for a heat check after an absurd stretch

On Sunday night, Charlotte Hornets got back into the win column with a comfortable win on the road Washington Wizards. It was an epic game for point guard LaMelo Ballwho scored 37 points in the win, on an absurd 10-15 from the three-point line.

At one point in the game, Ball hit four straight 3-pointers in a 99-second span, and on the Hornets’ next possession, team announcer Eric Collins openly wanted the star point guard to start another one.

However, Ball finished by passing the ball to teammate Brandon Miller, who swung to Josh Green for an open 3-pointer from the corner, which found the bottom of the net.

Collins has long been known for his on-air enthusiasm, which has drawn mixed reactions from fans around the league. However, there’s no denying his passion for Hornets basketball, and his sentiment that he wants Ball to start a fifth straight 3-pointer is surely shared by everyone else in the arena.

Meanwhile, the Hornets are now 27-31 on the season, getting back closer to the .500 mark after some tough losses at home in the last week or so.

While his driving skills leave a lot to be desired, Ball has played some of the best basketball of his career over the past month for the Hornets, leading the team to put together a recent nine-game winning streak and claw their way back into the Eastern Conference postseason.

Of course, there is still a lot left to sort out during the season, and the Hornets’ schedule will increase for the remainder of the campaign.

For now, though, Charlotte fans have to be thrilled with what they see from their young team.

The Hornets will next take the floor on Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls.
