Before claiming the nation’s No. 21 pick, Kiffin and LSU faced one roster departure.

Left tackle Tyree Adams decided to enter College football transfer portal on Saturday morning. Adams is emerging as a key early loss for the incoming head coach — with the offensive lineman surrendering zero sacks in 11 starts. He has remaining two years of terms.

Kiffin will have to hit the portal to find his replacement. Or he can insert incoming freshman Bristen Martinez as a blindside protector going forward. He was a local signee for the class of 2026 from Gonzales, La., and is headed to Baton Rouge as a four-star.

LSU, meanwhile, was in a close game with the Big 12 representative as UH led 28-21 before the start of the fourth quarter.
