LeBron James’ 18-year-old record is coming to an end
LeBron James’ incredible streak of 1,297 NBA regular season games with 10 or more points ended as the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Toronto Raptors 123-120.
James, 40, scored eight points against the Raptors and dished out 11 assists, including a layup by Rui Hachimura for the game-winner.
“I’m just playing the game the right way,” said James, who is in his unprecedented 23rd season.
“Always play the right game. That’s how I was taught to play.”
The last time James failed to score in double figures was in January 2007, breaking Michael Jordan’s previous record of 431 games.
James struggled with his shot most of the night, connecting on just four of 17 and missing all five of his three-point attempts.
With NBA leading scorer Luka Doncic absent for personal reasons, Austin Reaves had a double-double of 44 points and 10 assists for the Lakers.
In March, James became the first player to score 50,000 points in an NBA regular season and playoff game.
