LeBron James and Anthony Davis begin campaign to pressure Lakers at trade deadline

The Los Angeles Lakers are sixth in the Western Conference, and have been trying to improve their team throughout the season with trades. They made one move by acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Miltonbut there seems to be a burning desire of the players in the team to make a few more transactions. Those Lakers players are the stars of the team, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
“James, a four-time champion, and Davis, a one-time champion, have expressed a desire for the franchise to make moves to compete for a championship, and colleagues believe the Lakers are potentially a couple or two away, sources said,” ESPN’s Shams wrote Charms.
When the Lakers are healthy, they’ve shown they can be unstoppable, but when they take down a few players, a lot of things change. That was one of the sentiments head coach JJ Redick and James shared after the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
“It just goes back to not having a lot of margin for error and I think our group is like, if one guy goes out of the rotation, it has an exponential effect,” Redick said after the game. “When we’re healthy, we’re whole and we play connected and we execute, I think we’re a great basketball team.”

“That’s the way our team is built, there’s no room for error,” James said. “We have no choice.” This is how our team is constructed. We have to play close to perfect basketball.”
With the Lakers still dealing with injuries to players in their frontcourt, it is imperative that they try to add some depth to that area. Unfortunately, some people around the league think it is The Lakers aren’t all-in on making a trade before the deadline.
If the Lakers want to maximize the roster they have while also realizing that James is in his final years, they will do whatever they can.
