LeBron James and Stephen Curry reveal plans for 2028 Olympics

The The Los Angeles Lakers are currently preparation for the return of the future NBA Hall of Famer LeBron Jameswhich could happen as early as Tuesday night against the Utah Jazz. The Lakers have largely been able to hold down the fort so far in the absence of their second best player, but they would certainly like to get James back on the court as soon as possible.
Recently, James and co-host Steve Nash took to their “Mind the Game” podcast and had a Golden State Warriors play Stephen Curry as a guest, and one of the topics discussed was whether or not James and Curry would participate at the 2028 Olympic Games.
“You already know my answer. Don’t even ask. I’ll be watching from Cabo,” James said, according to Mind the Game on X, formerly Twitter.
“That’s the opposite of what I told him last year. It was like, God willing, I still have the choice and the physicality to be like that, I could make an impact on the team. Never say never, but I highly doubt it. I like being part of the movement,” Curry said.
“We can’t top what we just did,” James added. “How are we going to top these last two games?”
As James mentioned, both he and Curry competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Team USA won the gold medal. Curry was especially hot in the final game of the tournament, nailing a barrage of 3-pointers to help the U.S. team win a medal.
However, by the time the 2028 Olympics begin, James will be 43 and Curry 40, and it remains to be seen where their NBA careers will be at that point, if they’re even still playing.
Still, fans of the game would surely love to see the two future Hall of Famers take it one last time in 2028.
The next match between the Lakers and the Warriors is on February 7.
