LeBron James gets an updated injury line

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without LeBron James to start the regular season as he deals with nerve damage. The Lakers made the announcement last week James would be sidelined for at least three to four weeksputting him at the start of the season and beyond. On Wednesday, a there is a new update on the link James’ potential return from injury according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Charania reported that James and the Lakers are targeting mid-November as a realistic timeframe for his return.
“Oct. 30 would be the earliest the Lakers would officially reevaluate LeBron James,” Charania said. “But he’s expected to take at least a couple of weeks after that point. A source told me tonight that LeBron is going to take a patient approach to this nerve injury rehab. And so, the bulking up process for this is going to be a lot of basketball conditioning.”
LeBron James’ nerve injury first occurred during offseason workouts over the summer, but was not announced until the Lakers began training camp. James is entering an unprecedented 23rd season in the NBA. A few months into the regular season, James will turn 41. No NBA player has played as long as him.
Last season, James appeared in 70 games for the Lakers, averaging just over 34 minutes per game. He averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 51.3 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from the three-point line and 78.2 percent from the free throw line.
