LeBron James’ humble reaction to moving to No. 2 on the wins list

The The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 112-108 on Sunday. and in doing so, All-Star LeBron James earned his 1,015th. career victory giving him the second most individual victories in NBA history.
James spoke about the honor after the game and gave a humble look at what it is meant to him.
“I appreciate those who came before me because they laid the stones, laid the path, and I’m trying to do the same thing for the next generation,” James told reporters after the contest.
The four-time NBA champion announced a seasonal 29 points, with seven rebounds and six assists while shooting 12 of 17 from the field.
“Just play the game as it goes,” James told The Athletic’s Dan Voick. “I feel like (Austin Reeves) looked really good tonight, but he wasn’t in the rhythm he’s been in all season. And I realized that traveling from another country with a newborn can be taxing on you, not only mentally (but) physically, and shout out to (Luka Doncic) and his family for an amazing newborn.
“So I felt the opportunity kind of presented itself in a way that if I felt like my two heavy hitters didn’t have it or needed a little kick … I tried to put it in from there.”
The win moved the Lakers to a 17-6 record on the season, and head coach JJ Redick certainly made an intriguing point about what Sunday’s performance represented for James.
“I think it’s important to remind yourself every once in a while what you’re capable of,” coach JJ Redick said. “And for him to have injuries, to kind of start the season playing catch-up, and start the season playing catch-up with a team that’s also in a really good rhythm, and that, as a player, I don’t care how good you are, that’s hard to fathom. So tonight was super important.”
