LeBron James on Shohei Ohtani’s 10-hit, 3-home run game

On Tuesday evening, The Los Angeles Lakers picked themselves up their third straight win with a big win at home over the Utah Jazz. This game marked the debut of the season for Lakers star LeBron Jameswho returned from injury to score 11 points in the win.
The Lakers are hoping to join their hometown friends, the Los Angeles Dodgers, as champions in the City of Angels, and James recently spoke to his amazement Dodgers stars Shohei Ohtani during the Dodgers’ win over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS.
“If I texted you all and said a guy struck out ten batters in the NLCS, you’d be like ‘oh, that was one hell of a game by that pitcher. Wow.’ And if I sent a separate text and said that in that same game another guy came in and had three home runs in the same game… the same guy did it. He did both,” James said on the Mind The Game podcast (via Dodgers Nation on X, formerly Twitter).
Indeed, Shohei Ohtani’s Game 4 performance against the Brewers quickly joined the short list of the greatest performances in MLB history, showcasing both facets of the star’s dominant repertoire.
Meanwhile, the Lakers are hoping to join the Dodgers in winning a championship this season, and so far it looks like they could be in contention for at least one.
Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves have put up some Herculean stat lines so far this season, and while there could be a slight adjustment period as James integrates into the lineup, there’s no doubt that Los Angeles is a much more dangerous team with the all-time leading scorer in the lineup.
Either way, the Lakers will take the floor next on Sunday for a rematch against the Jazz in Utah.
