LeBron James shows All-Star form with a tomahawk dagger jam against the Nuggets
This may be the year LeBron James’s All-NBA and All-Star streak is coming to an end. He made it both 21 in consecutive seasons, but a late start to the 2025-26 season due to sciatica and a drop in his stats as Luka Doncic takes over Los Angeles Lakers from him means that streak is in danger of ending.
Regardless, James is a late contender inclusion in the All-Star team with the way he’s been playing lately. He went 19-9-8 in the Lakers’ comeback win over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night, 115-107, and is now averaging 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists per contest – numbers that definitely befit an All-Star.
James, to say the least, looks like one of them. With the game still hanging in the balance in the fourth and the trailing Nuggets refusing to quit even as the Lakers pulled away, the 41-year-old forward recognized the moment. With less than two minutes remaining, James cut to the basket and received a pass from Rui Hachimura, throwing means tomahawk strike yes punctuation procedure.

Lakers star LeBron James is facing basketball mortality

James will not make the All-NBA this season and it may not be because of his decline in play. He’s already missed 17 games this season, and one more absence automatically means he’ll be ineligible for season-ending awards — including being named to any All-NBA team.
Father Time is undefeated, but James puts up one hell of a fight. The The Lakers have the pieces competitive team, but they lack so much, especially on defense, that it’s hard to consider them a legitimate title contender rubbing elbows with the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs.
But if James has one last shot left, no one should ever be surprised — even as he’s already facing basketball mortality.
