LeBron James’ streak of 1,297 games in double figures ended against the Raptors

LeBron James‘ streak of 1,297 consecutive regular-season hits in double figures ended Thursday night, when NBA‘s career points leader was held at eight points in the Los Angeles Lakers123-120 win over Toronto Raptors.

James could have tried to win the game – and extend the streak – on the final possession, but instead he passed the ball to Rui Hachimura in the left corner.

Hachimura’s 3-pointer fell as time expired, and James — who has said countless times during his 23-year career that he always tries to make the right and smartest play — threw his hands in the air in celebration.

“Bron told me right before this, ‘I’ve got you. He’s going to get to you,'” Hachimura said in a televised on-court interview.

That ended the streak. Winning was all that mattered apparently.

“LeBron is very aware of how many points he has at that point,” Lakers coach JJ Redick said. “He did it as he has done it so many times.
