Like a revival for Paul George

Tyrese Maxey fell short of the 20-point mark for the first time this season, and the Sixers’ bench was very good in an easy win in Milwaukee. This is what jumps out at you when you look statistical sheet. But when the Bucks tried to come back in the 4th quarter, to the point of falling back to -12, it was Paul George who took the match into their own hands with mid-range baskets but also with a nice pass for VJ Edgecombe’s three-pointer.

In the end, “PG” finished with 20 points, and it was almost a relief for him after months and months of struggle. “I always stress how much Tyreese brings, how much he gives. But it’s nice when you can take some of the pressure off him, that he doesn’t have to do so much, that he doesn’t have to do everything.” replies the former Clippers winger. “I knew it was coming tonight, and I’m the freshest physically. I just wanted to get us on a good track. It was just my state of mind. My physicality is starting to come back. I’m blessed to be healthy, and I’m just trying to get through the games.”

Named to the all-defensive teams four times

Seventh with 13 wins and 9 lossesThe Sixers are sticking to the right wagon, and Paul George points out the atmosphere that reigns in the team. “It’s night and day! I don’t want to compare myself to last year’s team, which was great, but there’s something unique about this year.” he continues. “We’ve built cohesion. Some have been playing together for two years. It’s developing. It’s nice to win. There’s great energy and our leaders are leading the way.”

On a personal level, the wing player is rediscovering a taste for defensive efforts and intends to once again become one of the best “two-way players” in the NBA. “The coaches and my teammates let me be myself. They let me read the game, react,
to be a free safety at times, or a linebacker who calls plays and coverages. One of the first things Nick said to me when he came in this season was, ‘Help us on defense.’ I wasn’t named to all-defensive teams for nothing. I like to defend myself!”
