Tuesday’s game is the third and final regular season meeting between the Thunder and Pelicans.
Mark Daigneault looks at the Lou Dort/Jeremiah Fears fight

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault responded to Lou Dort and Jeremiah Fears‘ saying he wasn’t surprised it happened, considering the referees lost control of the game in the final minutes of the fourth quarter. The fight between Dort and Ferse happened minutes after Jaylin Williams and Sadiq Bey had to be separated after a hard foul.
For Daigneault, tensions between the Thunder and Pelicans players only escalated from that point on, leading to Fears and Dort’s brawl at the end of the game.
“Two things about it. The first is: I thought they were good guys, a good team, but I thought they lost control of the game in the final minutes. That feud ended up starting way before that with the Bey and J-Will situation. I thought they could have come clean,” Daigneault said. “Then the other thing is: I think it’s a foul for Dort.”
“And if they did, they should blow the whistle on that play regardless of the score and the time, because if they do, everybody stops playing, and you can handle the situation the way you would normally do it. But since they didn’t blow the whistle, it’s game over. There’s nothing you can do about it and you’re going to end up with that situation,” Daigneault concluded.
