Lou Williams reveals that Chris Paul has apologized for the criticism

The LA Clippers rocked the NBA world in the early hours of Wednesday evening when it was revealed that they breaking up with Chris Paul in the midst of the team’s current journey. After that, there were reports about it Paul’s abrasive leadership style took its toll on the organization amid their struggles to start the season. Although there could still be more consequences of this decision, former NBA player Lou Williams stated that Paul he has since apologized team for his behavior.
Lou Williams’ comments came during an episode of ‘Run It Back’ presented by FanDuel, but it’s clear that Chris Paul’s apology had no bearing on the Clippers’ decision.
“What I realized that brought this to an abrupt end was there were several scenarios where CP held people accountable, from the players to the staff, from the coaching staff to the front office,” Williams said. “From what I understand, there was a situation where he even addressed the team and apologized and said, ‘Look, my criticism is coming from a good place. I want us to be a good team, I want us to fix this.'”
“And he was just holding guys accountable. How some of those conversations were taken or interpreted is up to the players and the coaching staff that were involved and how they felt about it,” Williams continued. “Down there, there was another scenario where he was critical of the front office as well, and I think that was the one that broke the camel’s back.”
Paul joined the Clippers as a free agent in the offseason, but as the season wore on, he fell out of the rotation and the team continued to struggle. He appeared in 16 games with just over 14 minutes per game. He averaged 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 32.1 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from the 3-point line and 50 percent from the free throw line.
