Luka Doncic is calling for changes after being sacked by the Rockets

Are the Los Angeles Lakers in more trouble than it seems?

The Lakers suffered their third straight loss after being routed by the Houston Rockets 119-96 at Cripto.com Arena on Christmas Day. While it wasn’t exactly a season-changing loss, frustrations seem to be simmering beneath the surface.

after the game Luka Dončić admitted that he should be an example when it comes to making a stronger effort. But he also noted that they must shake things up.

“I don’t know what needs to change, but definitely something needs to change,” Doncic said in a video posted by Khobi Price of the So Cal News Group.

“We’ve got to figure (it), it’s a thing we’ve got to (do). Everybody’s got to talk about it. I know JJ (Redick) said it’s going to be uncomfortable. As (it) should be.”

Defense could be the main theme, as they have given up an average of 121.4 points in their last 10 games, losing six of them.

Doncic’s remarks echoed the comments Jake LaRavia, who revealed that there is a “divorce” in the Lakers. Doncic, however, sounded more introspective than worried.

LeBron James has already said it’s premature to talk about the playoffs, stressing the need to stay in the present and iron out their wrinkles.

The Lakers fell to 19-10, including 7-5 at home. The Minnesota Timberwolves replaced them in the 4th place in the Western Conference.

The Lakers have been plagued by injuries in recent weeks, with Doncic, Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura and Deandre Ayton all missing time.

Reaves could sit for an extended period of time after re-aggravating his calf injury against the Rockets.
