Luka Dončić is trying to calm down the panic caused by a groin injury

Los Angeles The Lakers opened the season with a 119-109 loss to the Golden State Warriors, and took almost all of the Luka Dončić to stay in the game. Doncic finished the game with 43 points12 rebounds and nine assists, and he also had some good moments in defense.

After the game, Dončić stayed for treatment a little longer than usual, and the work was done on the inside of his right leg. Although there could be reasons for fans to panic, Doncic turn off all worryaccording to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

It’s probably nothing,” Doncic said. “I felt it a little because my hip was going (in the opposite) direction. I felt it a little bit, but it’s probably nothing.”

Doncic has a history of minor injuries, but still plays through them in the end. The hope was that those injuries would be limited after he went through his physical transformation during the offseason. Doncic already seems to be moving better on the floor, and he feels like he is too.

I think I’m getting better defensively, I’m just trying to engage more, communicate more (with teammates),” said Doncic. “But overall, 41 minutes, so I like that.”

The good news is that Doncic’s injury is not a cause for concern, especially considering that LeBron James is sitting out for now.

The Lakers lose their season opener to the Warriors

The Lakers got off to a slow start, but Doncic managed to keep them afloat. The second quarter was good for them as they managed to get back into the game after halftime, but it was the third quarter that doomed them. The Lakers were outscored 35-25 in the quarter and didn’t have much of an answer for the Warriors, who bled to death in the fourth.

“The trend I’m seeing is that we continue to be a terrible team in the third quarter,” head coach JJ Redick said. “That was last year. That was the preseason. I have to rethink some things and it’s, you know, a two-way thing with guys. What do they need at halftime to make sure they’re ready to play? They’re not ready to play to start the third quarter.”

The Lakers will need to improve their play in the third quarter if they want to stay in games, and their next opportunity to do so will be against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
