Luka Dončić joked that he would become a dad again
When Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic missed last week’s Raptors gamehe had a good reason: he became a dad for the second time. Doncic joked that he is the father of two girls after the Lakers’ 112-108 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Doncic says it’s a blessing and joked that he would start a new career after his playing days.
“The best thing in the world. Obviously, two girls will make my life hell, for sure. I know that. I will be their security after retirement,” Doncic said. “All kidding aside, it’s the best thing in the world. I’m just blessed.”
Luka posted a triple-double (31 points, 15 rebounds, 11 assists) in the Lakers’ four-point win over the Sixers. In his first full season with the Lakers, Doncic is having an MVP-caliber season. He is averaging 35.0 points on 47.2% shooting, 9.2 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Lakers are 8-2 in their last 10 games.

The Lakers are guarding Luka Doncic’s triple-double against the 76ers, which put him ahead of All-Star Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets for most triple-doubles at 30 points. Doncic passed Jokic for second in historywith only Hall of Fame guard Oscar Robertson ahead of both of them.
As Doncic’s impressive season continues, the Lakers have climbed up the Western Conference standings, with only the defending champion Thunder holding a better record. In addition, the All-Star Lakers’ LeBron James had his best game of the season against the Sixers.
James finished with 29 points on 12-of-17 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep, seven rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal.
The Lakers will host the Spurs in the quarterfinals of the NBA Cup on Wednesday.
