Luka Doncic reacts to LA’s three-technique in the loss to the Celtics



The rivalry is what keeps on giving, but Los Angeles Lakers they were found wanting against the Boston Celtics on Sunday at Cripto.com Arena, absorbing a double-digit loss, 111-89.

It was a tight battle through the first three quarters before the Celtics took control and pulled away in the final frame, outscoring the Lakers 27-18.

Los Angeles was whistled for three technical fouls — one each against Austin Reaves, Marcus Smart and coach JJ Redick — for the altercation, shifting momentum to Boston during key junctures.

He finished with 25 points on 9-of-22 shooting. He also had five rebounds and three assists. His numbers were far from their usual output, as the Celtics were starved of defense.

The Lakers shot just 39% from the field and were outrebounded, 50-39. The Celtics, on the other hand, were impressive on offense, shooting 48% from the floor and dishing out 29 assists.

Doncic was outplayed Jaylen Brown in their matchupwith the latter finishing with a record 32 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

The 26-year-old Doncic has committed 13 technical fouls this season, just three short of an automatic suspension.

He has admitted in the past that he needs to stop whining at referees to avoid being sent off. Doncic knows he has to address his competitive instincts and better control his emotions in order to give the Lakers a better chance of victory.

They fell to 34-22 after the loss to the Celtics.
