Luka Doncic’s defiant statement after LA was exposed again

Los Angeles The Lakers found themselves in another tight game finally, this time against the Phoenix Suns. They lost a match earlier this week against the Orlando Magic after a botched final game in between Luka Dončić and LeBron James. Against the Suns, they had a chance to win again on the last possession, but Austin Reaves failed to capitalize on it.

The Lakers have now lost five of their last seven games and are looking to get back on track during the second half of the season. After the game, Dončić talked about what the team is like need to be done to get back into the win column.

“Just go game by game, try to win every game. Obviously we haven’t started well (since the All-Star break), but nothing’s over. We just have to keep thinking that we’re trying to win every game,” Doncic said.

Head coach JJ Redick offered another perspective about recent losses, and he knows that the spotlight weighs on them just because of who they are.

“Our losses are louder than other teams. Because we’re the Lakers — and how we lose,” Redick said, via Benjamin Royer of the Orange County Register.

The Lakers have been healthy during this stretch as well, which probably makes them even more frustrating. The last two defeats are not something to be overly concerned about as they have come down to the final possession, but they are games they definitely want to win.

The Lakers are now 34-24 and sixth in the Western Conference, with a chance to make the playoffs. There is still plenty of time in the season for them to tighten up and start stringing together some wins so that they can take a comfortable place in the top six.
