Luke Kennard reveals ‘full on’ relationship with LeBron James


Luke Kennard had a pretty positive comment to share LeBron James in front of his Los Angeles The Lakers make their debut against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.

The Lakers acquired Kennard from the Atlanta Hawks before the trade deadline. They got a sharpshooter in exchange for Gabe Vincent and a second-round pick, filling a key need for a prolific three-point shooter.

Kennard spoke to the media before the game on Saturday, talking about his thoughts on preparing for his debut. He even reacted to finally playing with James as a teammate in the NBA, mentioning how he represented an AAU team sponsored by the veteran himself.

“Definitely a full-circle moment,” Kennard said, via reporter Dave McMenamin.

Luke Kennard put his skills to the test, helping LeBron James and the Lakers take down the Warriors 105-99 at home.

Both teams traded shots throughout the first half, as Golden State led just 42-41 at halftime. Despite that, Los Angeles asserted itself and took control in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 64-57 over the final 24 minutes of the game.

Six players scored in double figures for Los Angeles in the win, including Kennard. He impressed in his debut with 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. He shot 4-of-7 from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. The team was led by LeBron James with 20 points and 10 assists, Rui Hachimura with 18 points, Austin Reeves with 16 points and eight assists, while Marcus Smart had 15 points and four assists. Meanwhile, Jared Vanderbilt had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Los Angeles is 32-19 on the season, holding fifth place in the Western Conference standings. They are above the Minnesota Timberwolves and Phoenix Suns while falling behind the Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.

With three straight wins, the Lakers will be looking forward to their next home game. They host the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 9th at 10:00 PM ET.
