Lynn reveals to Howard the advice he gave Kobe Bryant

Jeremy Lin spent just one year playing with Kobe Bryant when he joined in the 2014-15 season. after working with the Houston Rockets. And while he was certainly honored to play with Kobe, things did not go according to plan The Lakers finished 14th in the Western Conference with a record of 21-60.

Now he’s shed light on the ways Bryant famously challenged him during his time in LA, claiming he had a problem with Kobe’s handling of things, per post on Instagram by ClutchPoints.

“I’m not disrespecting Kobe because I fully acknowledge that he’s a thousand times a greater player than me, but what I’m saying is even being a leader, like what you and I were telling him wasn’t, we were smarter than you, we were better than you. It was more like in this specific situation, here’s a little bit of feedback that I felt you couldn’t handle perfectly, right?” he said, before asserting that he still has a lot of respect for the Lakers legend.

“And so it comes with so much respect for who he is. Did he have to respect me as the size and the level of player that he was? No, not necessarily. I understand why he would look at me and say, like, he’s just not doing it for us. Then again, I don’t hold that to this day. I let it go and he and I figured it out, but it’s a patched concept.”

The 2019 NBA champion clearly doesn’t hold any grudges and wouldn’t look back on his time with the Lakers as his best years in the NBA himself. Lin averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists per game in 74 appearances, including 30 starts. Kobe was the only All-Star and the only player to average more than 20 points on the roster, he decided to retire at the end of the following season at the age of 37.
