Mac McClung teases the dunks he would take in a dunk contest

Over the weekend, the NBA All-Star celebration was held on Saturday night, a bizarre afternoon, with The dunk contest is the main event days. Miami Heat forward Keshad Johnson ended up winning event, although many fans wondered why Chicago Bulls guard Mac McClung he was not at the competition.

McClung has won the last three slam dunk contests, and while he hasn’t been able to secure himself a consistent spot on an NBA team, he’s been with the Bulls for a few weeks, meaning he had every reason to be there Saturday in Los Angeles.

Recently, McClung has shown some dunks he would go with that he was selected to defend his title in the event, according to Chaz NBA on YouTube.

It’s clear that McClung still has all the athleticism needed to win, but fans in Los Angeles instead had to settle for a bizarre string of dunks from Johnson, Jace Richardson, Jackson Hayes and Carter Bryant throughout the night.

The dunk contest, and the NBA All-Star Weekend as a whole, have received tremendous criticism in recent years for a perceived decline in quality, with many fans bemoaning the fact that big players often refuse to participate in the event these days.

Two years ago, Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown changed that by participating in the competition, but that still hasn’t stopped new criticism in the NBA.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, the league will be desperately hoping that the All-Star Game players will make some sort of effort after years of a boring game that feels like a high school recess game as opposed to showcasing the best basketball players on the planet.

Tipoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM ET from Los Angeles.
