Mac McClung’s 3-word reaction to Indiana contract goes viral
Everything is being prepared for Indiana Pacers have a nightmare in the 2025-26 season. Things were already looking difficult during the year, with what Tyrese Halliburton will miss the entire campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals. But everything that has happened since then has only made things worse for them.
TJ McConnell suffered a hamstring injury in the preseason, keeping him out for at least a month. And then in the Pacers’ season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Andrew Nembhard suffered a shoulder injury. And then just like the cherry on top of what is already turning into a unique sandwich of shit, Benedict Maturin, who has started the new campaign with flying colours, suffered an injury to his toes over the weekend, severely depleting what was already a short-handed Pacers backcourt.
Indiana had to take immediate action, waiving James Wiseman (who started a game earlier in the season) to open up a roster spot for a guard. And the Pacers signed the G-League star and two-time NBA slam dunk champion on Monday night Mac McClung official.
McClung in turn published a three word reaction to be signed by the Pacers.
“Thank you God!!!” McClung posted on X (formerly Twitter) in response to Shams Charania’s tweet announcing the Pacers’ decision to bring him in.
If there’s anyone to thank God for, it might be the Pacers. They finally have more depth at guard, as they relied on Ben Shepard to hold down the fort at the point. Only RaiJ Dennis is there to support Sheppard, and it’s clear that this is not a sustainable situation for Indiana.
McClung could make his debut for the Pacers on Wednesday night when they hit the road against the Dallas Mavericks.
Will Mac McClung finally find his NBA home with the Pacers?

McClung was a G-League player throughout his career, averaging nearly 23 points per contest for his junior career. But he couldn’t seem to find a home in the NBA, as the only time he’s grown up in the big leagues is when the All-Star break approaches and the league needs its best dunker to suit up.
But McClung has a good chance of staying with the Pacers. They badly need a point guard, and this time McClung will be motivated to stay in the NBA forever.
