Malik Monk is coming out of purgatory
The attitude of Dennis Schroder and his suspension they didn’t just make people in Sacramento unhappy. As the German was not allowed to play three games, Doug Christie came out of the closet Malik Monk. As of mid-December 2025, there was a sixth man completely removed from rotationor used for a few minutes here or there.
He was allowed 26 minutes against Houston, his most playing time in a month. He scored 15 points, with 4 rebounds and 3 assists. First of all, his two game-winning baskets thirty seconds apart in the final quarter were very important in the Kings’ victory.
“It feels good, especially doing it at Golden 1. The fans have always shown me love. There’s always been love and I’m happy to win this match. It’s amazing”, comments the former Hornets player. “Malik did an outstanding job,” note son coach.“He played at a level. I love him and congratulate him on that.”
After missing three straight games, Malik Monk already had 20 minutes against the Warriors (8 points) last Friday to get back on his feet. His coach’s decision and long days watching from the bench apparently didn’t have much of an impact on his performance.
“It’s a testament to how professional he is, the talent he has and how well he takes care of himself and stays fit.”that’s how he salutes DeMar DeRozan. “He’s always there, he works like crazy, he stays ready and this match, where he was very good, shows that after everything he’s been through.”
