Mariano Rivera, the wife, is facing ugly allegations of covering up child sexual abuse

New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera and his wife Clara are facing serious allegations of sexual abuse. The New York Post’s Christian Arnold reported Wednesday that the lawsuit was filed in state Supreme Court in Westchester County. Prosecutors accuse Riveras of covering up sexual abuse while she was at summer camp with his church.

“Our lawsuit alleges that Mariano and Clara Rivera had a duty to protect our client and missed an opportunity to save her from the harm of sexual assault,” said Adam Horowitz of Horowitz Law, one of the attorneys representing the victim. statement provided to The Post,” Arnold wrote.

The lawsuit also alleges that a minor who was older than Jane Doe molested her while on a summer internship at Ignite Life Church in Gainesville, Florida. The Riveras allegedly learned of the abuse and “isolated and intimidated” the victim into silence.

Mariano Rivera and his family did not respond to Arnold’s request for comment for the story. The lawsuit alleges that Mariano and Clara “falsely promoted their activities and premises as safe, moral and otherwise free of risk of injury when they knew or should have known otherwise.”
