Markieff Morris hit LeBron James with a “what the f*ck” last season for his lack of respect

The The Los Angeles Lakers were impressive so far in the 2025-26 NBA season, he is currently 18-7 heading into Thursday night’s game against the Utah Jazz. The Lakers recently got a road win over the Phoenix Suns thanks to a controversial late call put on LeBron James at the line, where he knocked down two of three free throw attempts.
The Lakers are of course led by Luka Doncic, whom the team acquired at the beginning of February last year from the Dallas Mavericks, and recently former Lakers forward Markieff Morris weighed in on the move can affect the team’s view of James himself.
“You got Luke, so it’s going to be … but, I just felt like the respect (for James) wasn’t high enough,” Morris said, on the Morris Code Show on X, formerly Twitter. “And I actually said that to him (LeBron James) a few times like, ‘bro, what the f*ck?’
When the Lakers got Doncic, it was clear that he would be their number one priority in the further decision-making process. Anthony Davis has been asking for a center to pair him with for years, only to have those pleas rebuffed, but Los Angeles went right out and tried to sign Mark Williams almost immediately after acquiring Doncic from the Mavericks.
There were rumblings during the offseason that it could alienate James, but the star ended those talks by signing a player option to return to the Lakers this season, despite attempts by his spokesman Rich Paul to stir up controversy with seemingly cryptic comments.
Either way, the Lakers will take the next floor Thursday night on the road against the Utah Jazz. That contest is scheduled to begin at 9:00 PM ET from Salt Lake City.
