Matas Bouzelis hit back with claims amid a 10-game losing streak

It’s a hard life for Chicago Bulls. they are in the midst of a 10-game losing streakthe longest in the last seven years. at the same time, accusations of tanking are being made against the Bulls to secure a higher seed in the NBA draft lottery.

however, Matas Buzelis emphatically denied those claims, according to Joel Lorenzi of The Athletic. Instead, Bouzelis used his intense desire to win.

“I don’t really like that word. And people might think that (we’re grappling), but I go out and try to win every night. All these guys are, too.”

Undoubtedly, the losing streak is taking its toll on Bouzelis. Chicago lost its 10th straight to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, 131-99. The game in which Buzelis scored a season-high 32 points.

“I’m sorry, I just … I want to win, and that’s what it’s all about,” Bouzelis said when asked about his ongoing development following the Chicago Bulls’ latest loss.

In addition, the Bulls are still in the adjustment phase with the new lineup following a multitude of trades. Trades that netted Kobe White, Ayo Dosunmu, Nikola Vucevic and Kevin Huerter.

But to hear Bouzelis tell it, that’s no reason not to play to win.

“When you trade away half the team and bring in new guys, it’s tough,” Bouzelis said. “That’s not an excuse, though. We’ve got to go in and figure it out. And (I’ll say it again): I know we’re capable of doing it.”

On Thursday, the Bulls will close out the month against the Portland Trail Blazers. They are currently 24-35.
