The Blazers just announced it Matisse Thibulle he underwent surgery to repair a torn collateral ligament of the ulnar ligament of the left thumb. The Portland guard/winger will be re-evaluated in four to six weeks…
The 28-year-old was injured Wednesday night against the Jazz. At the end of the first quarter, after a counterattack, he grabbed his left arm before leaving his teammates at the start of the second period. An MRI done Thursday confirmed the tear, and surgery was performed immediately.
This is a new failure for Matis Tibulo. Already sidelined for much of last season with knee and ankle injuries, he was still strong in the final practice.
Still valuable defensively (when he can play…), the former Sixers chose to return in Oregon, which is trying to build a strong defensive identity around Toumani Kamara in particular.
