Mavericks’ Klay Thompson, Dereck Lively II headlined a lengthy injury report against the Timberwolves



The Dallas Mavericks and the Minnesota Timberwolves will face off on Wednesday night. However, the Mavs have a lengthy injury report for the game.

The Mavs will return home after dropping a 110-105 game against the Hornets on Monday in Charlotte. It was a a tough loss for the Mavericksand they certainly hope to get back on track on Wednesday night. However, as mentioned, the team is not dealing with a lack of injury concerns.

According to NBA injury report, Klay Thompson (left ankle sprain), Derek Lively II (sprained right ankle), Naji Marshall (illness) and Quentin Grimes (back spasms) all are listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic (left calf strain), Dante Exum (right wrist surgery), Jaden Hardy (right ankle sprain) and Dwight Powell (right hip strain) are out.

Lively’s situation is currently uncertain. He was promoted to questionable before Monday’s game against the Pelicans, yet is the Mavs’ head coach Jason Kidd said he doesn’t think the center is close to returning. However, despite Kidd’s comments, Lively remains doubtful for the Timberwolves-Mavericks game.

Thompson was not listed on the injury report ahead of Monday’s game. Grimes warmed up but was a late addition to the injury report and ended up being ruled out on Monday. Marshall was also not on Monday’s injury report, but is now dealing with an illness according to this latest injury report.

In total, the Mavericks have eight players listed on the injury report for Wednesday’s game, with four already ruled out. Injuries have taken a significant toll on the Mavs this season, and that will continue on Wednesday. The only remaining question is how many players listed as questionable will be made available?

The Mavs will provide further updates before tipoff. The game is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST in Dallas.
