Max Christie and the Mavericks enjoy New York

The truth about this meeting will be written from the first moments. THE Mavericks run the game from the right side, with a 16-4 start and Max Christie hitting three straight 3-pointers.

Reaction to Nix arrives with Jaylen Brunson and Mitchell Robinson, but remains shy (22-31). Especially when Cooper Flagg comes on early in the second quarter and he and his teammates play hard in transition. Mike Brown’s players are overwhelmed and the deficit has already grown to twenty points.

Naji Marshall and Max Christie are enjoying themselves and very soon there is no more than a twenty to thirty point difference. The Knicks return to the locker room with a 28-point deficit and a half to forget (47-75). The second half does not offer a different face.

Max Christie is still scrappy behind the 3-point line and if Karl-Anthony Towns is back with more determination, the interior is messy and strong. Nothing changes until the last quarter (71-94).

Can the locals provide excitement for the fans at Madison Square Garden? It was a small 10-2, but it was suffocated by two baskets in a row by Moussa Cisse, outstanding in his activity, as well as his teammates. Therefore, no miracle and more than a logical victory (97-114) of the Mavericks who played a perfect match or almost.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

– Performance by Max Christie. Cheeky. The former Lakers player started the match with 3/3 from behind the arc. Then, after a missed shot, he continued with five successes in a row! The result: He finished as the game’s top scorer with 26 points on 8/10 3-pointers. With confidence, he simply disgusted his opponents.

– A collective effort by the Mavericks. The Texans had less individual quality on the floor than New York. But everyone had a good evening. Naji Marshall was very poor with his penetration and low shots from two meters from the circle, while Moussa Cisse was excellent with boundless energy and with his 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in 20 minutes. Cooper Flagg and Clay Thompson contributed with 18 and 14 points. Jason Kidd can look forward to the skill of his troops (15/32 on 3-pointers) and seriousness to keep the lead until the end.

– Karl-Anthony Towns and his teammates are showing their bad faces. Obviously, if the Mavericks were so good, and even if the credit goes to them, it’s because the Knicks missed their game, too. No intensity, no skill, a “KAT” that drives and demands whistles over and over again. It was a very bad night, as has been the case all too often since the NBA title in New York…
