Max Struss is not ready to return…

Max StrussMore bad news for Cavaliers etc Max Struss. Full back/winger has yet to play a single minute this season after undergoing surgery in late August for a Jones fracture in his left foot, an injury located at the base of the fifth metatarsal bone that is known to be delicate.

His unavailability was initially estimated at three or four months, and in mid-November, Kenny Atkinson it should have been quite reassuring, explaining that the rehabilitation was taking its course, with no signs of stopping.

“He’s on the field, he’s shooting, so that’s a good thing. He’s not cleared for contact yet, but he’s doing his job on the field and he’s progressing well.”, then slipped the Cleveland coach.

But the trend has visibly changed in recent weeks. The Cavs announced yesterday that his leave will be extended for at least another month. Follow-up examinations (and especially X-rays) showed that time is still needed to enable complete consolidation of the fracture.

Max Struss will therefore have to be patient before considering a return to Kenny Atkinson’s side. A disadvantage that does not favor the Cavaliers, only in 6th place in the East with 21 wins and 17 losses.
