Memphis honors Jaren Jackson Jr. before Jazz clash
Memphis The Grizzlies honored former star center Jaren Jackson Jr. ahead of their matchup against the Utah Jazz on Friday night.
Jackson represented the Grizzlies franchise for eight seasons from 2018 to 2026. He helped lead the team to four playoff appearances after winning the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year award and two All-Star selections.
Just earlier this month, Memphis decided to move on from one of its most important players before the trade deadline. They sent him to the Jazz along with John Konchar, Joc Landale and Vince Williams in exchange for Kyle Anderson, Walter Clayton Jr., Taylor Hendricks, George Niyang and draft compensation.
Jackson is out for the rest of the 2025-26 season as he undergoes knee surgery. Although he was not on the field during the game, he was present on the sidelines as Memphis honored him for his return match.
