Memphis released Ja Morant’s UCL injury timeline

The Memphis Grizzlies‘ season went off the rails. They entered the NBA All-Star break at 20-33 and were 5.5 games behind the Los Angeles Clippers for the final game in the Western Conference. The Grizzlies were partially derailed by injuries, primarily to their star point guard I Morant.

Morant has played in just 20 of 53 games this season. He last played on January 21 against the Atlanta Hawks in a 124-122 loss. The former All-Star quarterback is dealing with a UCL injury in the elbow.

It was reported Wednesday that Morant is still dealing with the discomfort and will be reassessed in two weeksaccording to ClutchPoints’ NBA insider Brett Siegel.

It’s been an injury-riddled season for Morant. He previously missed more than a month with a calf strain.

Any injuries to the former No. 2 pick are only half the story. He has been in hot water for several years now for his off-field antics. That combination seemingly destroyed any trade value Morant could provide for the Grizzlies.

Despite a few trade rumors are emergingThe NBA trade deadline came and went with Morant still in Memphis.

Injuries are nothing new for the Murray State product. During his seven-year pro career, the Grizzlies guard has dealt with a sprained ankle, sprained knee, back spasms, hip subluxation and shoulder labral tears. All this was before the 2025-26 season.

He’s not the only Grizzlies player out with an injury.

Additionally, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope will undergo minor surgery to address a misalignment in his right little finger.
