Metallica’s Sphere announcement comes with a bold ‘no repeat’ promise

The next high profile artist perform at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada, will be the legendary heavy metal band Metallicawho will play there later in 2026.

The residence is published on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Metallica will perform the Life Burns Faster residency that begins on October 1.

To make the shows unique, Metallica promises a new set list every weekend. Every weekend they dub “Weekend without repetition”. This means that “if you attend the Thursday and Saturday shows, you won’t hear the same song twice.

So instead of performing the same set list every weekend, the band decides to make each weekend’s show unique. This will give fans a unique choice when purchasing tickets.

In addition, the band promised that the setlists will “span the entire catalog” and will be “enhanced with immersive technologies that will allow you to experience the ‘Tallica sound’ in new experiential dimensions.”

Among the shows is a special one for Halloween (Saturday, October 31). The band will perform for four weekends, playing a show on Thursday and Saturday, in October.

Only eight shows are currently announced. However, don’t rule out the possibility of more shows being announced if demand is strong.
