Metta World Peace campaigns for Dallas’ GM opening
Recently, the Dallas Mavericks made headlines since firing CEO Nick Harrisonnine months after he infamously traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Anthony Daviswho is currently dealing with an injury. The move has raised questions about whether the next Mavericks regime will look to embrace a full rebuild around Cooper Flagg, who the team lucked out with the No. 1 overall pick last summer.
One person who thinks he could very well turn the Mavericks around is none other than the former NBA champion Metta World Peaceex Ron Artest, who was recently used by TMZ as a job campaign platform.
Metta World Peace doesn’t seem to have much of a problem with basketball experience, but he helped the Lakers win the championship in 2010, knocking down a three-pointer in the final minute of Game 7 to extend his team’s lead against the Boston Celtics.
Big decision for the Mavericks

Whoever the Mavericks select as their next general manager will have to decide quickly if they think the team still has a chance to compete with Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving in the lineup, or if they should blow it and try to acquire some future assets to help pair with Flagg.
Currently, the Mavericks are 4-10, and have already dug themselves a big hole in the Western Conference playoff picture. Even if Davis and Irving were healthy, it’s hard to imagine Dallas reaching the level of teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets or Denver Nuggets from the West.
Either way, the Mavericks will next take the floor on Monday night on the road against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
