Miami fills the 15th spot on the roster with a 3-year deal for the standout prospect
With The Miami Heat are putting their focus back on turning the season around after the All-Star break, some trades were made with the team, giving the undrafted standout a standard contract. Although it is The heat is dealing with an inconsistent seasonthere were some exceptions, one being a two-way player in Myron Gardner, who was honored for his efforts.
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Gardner and Miami agreed to a three-year standard deal after playing well as a two-way player. This deal now has the 15th spot on Miami’s roster filled, the maximum the team can have, though the two-way opening has been cleared.
The other two-way spots are filled by Vladislav Goldin and Jahmir Young, as Gardner recently saw extended minutes from the head coach Erik Spoelstraespecially with some injuries happening to the team. Gardner even started four times for the team, averaging 11.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists, while shooting 55.2 percent from the field and 53.8 percent from three-point range.
In addition to his ability on the court, Gardner is known for his physicality, personality and the energy he brings to the heat, with Norman Powell explaining how useful it is for them.
“Myron is a character. I love Myron. He’s always full of energy, high octane,” Powell told ClutchPoints on Jan. 18. “He always runs up and runs into you; it’s always a positive energy, a positive light coming from him. I encourage everyone. He has everyone laughing and joking every time, 01% 01%, 01% of the time and we need that.”

Warmth Bam Adebayo about the need for teammates like Myron Gardner

As Gardner will continue to energize the heat for the rest of the season, he did the same with the G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Active on the glass and making his presence felt, the 24-year-old already has the respect of Miami, with captain Bama Adebayo emphasizing its vital role.
“You need teammates like him, it’s like you throw him in the game, and he’s going to play as hard as he can. But when Myron checks himself in the game, you immediately feel the difference,” Adebayo said on January 21.

Either way, Gardner looks to help the Heat turn their season around, with a 29-27 record that puts them in eighth place in the Eastern Conference as their next game is Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.
