Mike Garafolo sends a message to fans who hate Kevin Patul
Eagles fans were not happy with former offensive coordinator Kevin Patul during the 2025 season, Patullo received the brunt of the blame for Philadelphia’s lackluster offense. as a result Patullo was fired after just one season as OC. Patullo started again on Wednesday after he hired by the Dolphins as their new passing game coordinator.
But some Eagles fans still want Patullo.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo issued a message to Eagles fans who still hate Patul after the Dolphins hired him.
“I have a message for Eagles fans,” Garafolo said Thursday via Good Morning Football. “If you think this guy wasn’t the reason you had such incredible success under Nick Sirianni, you’re sadly mistaken. He was the passing game coordinator two years ago, a role he’ll have with the Dolphins, when this team won the Super Bowl. He’s also been a trusted advisor and kind of a pseudo-ally to Siriani who he’s known for a while and helped him out for a while. A lot of head coaching mechanics there.”
There is no doubt that Patullo was a valued member of the organization. But he may not have been the best fit as an offensive coordinator.
“This team, the Eagles, didn’t fire him when they made the change at the offensive coordinator position,” Garfolo added. “Do you know how rare that is in the NFL? Usually it’s OK for this guy to have to go whether he’s been here in other roles or not. They’d welcome him back.”
Ultimately, Philadelphia gave Patul the opportunity to pursue coaching opportunities elsewhere.
Garafolo noted that Patulo has drawn interest from “multiple teams in terms of multiple roles” on the coaching staff. It shows other organizations are recognizing the value Patullo can provide as an NFL coach.
Now the Eagles will move forward with Sean Mannion as their new offensive coordinator.
Philly’s offense should be under the microscope during the 2026 season. If Mannion doesn’t turn the offense around, it could suffer the same fate as Patullo.
