Mike Vrabel reveals a message to the players about the end of the season

on Sunday, New England Patriots fairytale for the 2025-26 season got sober with a blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. It was a harsh reality check for the Patriots, who saw their offense completely shut down for much of the game and now face an offseason full of questions.

After the game, the head coach Mike Vrabel discovered his message to players after a heavy loss.

“I was talking about a disappointing end to a phenomenal, exciting, enjoyable year,” Vrabel said, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss on X, formerly Twitter.

Vrabel also kept it real on what the Patriots are can take away from their 2025 campaign.

“We learned how to win,” he said, according to MassLive’s Mark Daniels.

During the 2025 season, the Patriots faced accusations that they only had an impressive record due to their insanely easy schedule, which was the easiest the NFL had seen in decades.

That criticism continued into the playoffs, when the Patriots took on multiple inept offenses and the Denver Broncos played without starting quarterback Bo Nix en route to the Super Bowl.

New England’s fortunes ran out in the big game, however, as Drake May suffered through his worst game as a professional quarterback, consistently unable to see past the Seahawks’ creatively engineered defense.

It was also a brutal game for the Patriots’ offensive line, which gave up relentless pressure, often on downs where the Seahawks didn’t even bring a blitz. The game will almost certainly cement that Will Campbell will be moved to the second spot on the offensive line next season.

Either way, fans will get to see what the Patriots are really made of next year when they face much tougher opponents, thanks to the fact that they will be facing a first-place schedule after winning the AFC East this year.
