Miles Bridges breaks his silence on trade rumors

The The Charlotte Hornets are seemingly a team to watch as the Feb. 5 trade deadline approaches. There is speculation that Miles Bridges could be resolved in the coming days. The star forward talked about the buzz around the league on Sunday.

Bridges, who is 27, is not letting the rumors torment himaccording to Roderick Boone of the Charlotte Observer. In the end, the seven-year veteran claims he’s just focused on playing basketball, and if work comes up, so be it.

“Just focus on winning, focus on controlling what I can control,” Bridges said. “If I get traded, if I don’t get traded … I’d rather be here. But I know if I get traded, I know Jeff Peterson (Hornets president of basketball operations) and those guys, they’re going to talk to me first. So I’m not trying to worry about that. I just worry about the games.”

Miles Bridges has been involved in trade rumors for some time now. The Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks and Phoenix Suns are three teams that are linked to the Hornets star.

The reason is that Bridges is a consistent scorer and would certainly be helpful to any team pushing for the playoffs. In 45 games played so far this season, Bridges is averaging 18.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 44.5% from the field and 33.4% from the three-point line.

Speculation will likely continue to grow around Miles Bridges and the Hornets until the trade deadline. Until then, six games are scheduled for Charlotte, one of which will be played on February 5.
