Milwaukee casts 2021 Finals shadow on Suns on social media
The The Milwaukee Bucks were up and down to open the 2025-26 NBA season, currently at 7-5 heading into Friday night’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. The Bucks saw some unexpected contributions from role players like Ryan Rollins and Giannis Antetokounmpo was arguably the best player in the NBA for three weeks, but it’s still unclear if this team can actually compete.
In this case, Bucks fans would be forgiven for thinking back to the day in 2021 when the team pulled away to win the championship against the Phoenix Suns.
Recently, the Suns announced a new court that looked quite similar to the one they played during the 2021 season, and the Bucks social media team saw an opportunity to take advantage friendly strike at their former rivals.
“We love that court,” the Bucks wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
The Bucks won just one road game in the 2021 Finals, taking Game 5 in epic fashion thanks to Antetokounmpo’s late dunk on a lob by Jrue Holiday, but that was all they needed as Milwaukee went up 3-0 at home in the series.
Can the Bucks reach those heights again?

Now, the Milwaukee Bucks are trying to rekindle the magic of that season in 2021, albeit with a new cast of characters surrounding Antetokounmpo. Milwaukee has seen solid play from new players like Myles Turner and others this season, but the team still doesn’t seem like a star without a real fight, even in a weakened Eastern Conference.
Through it all, Antetokounmpo has been playing the best basketball of his career, and 7-5 is a solid place for Milwaukee to be this early in the season.
Either way, the Bucks will next take the floor Friday night at home against the Charlotte Hornets at 8:00 PM ET.
