Mitchell Robinson, the Knicks’ official second-chance provider

In just 16 minutes against Wolves, Mitchell Robinson did serious damage. Pivot collected 8 points (4/5 shooting), 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. Even his coach was surprised. “I’m surprised it’s only three blocks”, laughing Mike Brown. “He was everywhere, defending everything, blocking and contesting shots.

The most important number in his stat line is his 9 offensive rebounds! “As soon as he’s on the floor, we’re comfortable shooting because we know we’ll have a second chance”rejoices Jalen Brunson.

Those nine rebounds were heavy on the Knicks’ 21 offensive snaps that hurt Minnesota so much, allowing the Knicks to score 31 points in that area.

“He grabbed more offensive rebounds than anybody on our team.”, laments Chris Finch, think Rudy Gobert, 9 rebounds in this defeat. “We were completely dominated under the circle, with 31 points in the second chance. On every ball that was lying, they won duels.”

How could the Wolves have done a better job of preventing Mitchell Robinson from returning so much ammunition to his teammates? “Jump blocking would be a good start”asks Wolves coach when Anthony Edwards, back to the competitionhe regrets not only 21 rebounds but also 17 turnovers. “We can’t win like that”comments in the back.
