MVP of the night

Since the beginning of the season, in Boston, every night, someone has to raise their level of play to compensatethe absence of de Jayson Tatum. It’s Friday night Derrick White who pulled out all the stops to punish the Heat, and this Saturday, in Jaylen Brown’s absence, Peyton Pritchard took over.
Against the Raptorsdirect opponents in the race for the podium, the best 6th man last season signs his best game of the season with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists! Every time the Celtics had to go without White or Brown, Pritchard responded. Against the Cavaliers, in the absence of White, he scored 42 points! Against the Wizards, he had 20 points and 8 assists while Brown was spared.
“I didn’t do anything different” however Pritchard assures. “I’m just trying to pick up the pace, get into transition, create things early in the game. I feel like our team is at its best when we’re really running, even after field goals. So that was the mindset.”
Peyton Pritchard is never afraid of big…
Contributing to 6 of the Celtics’ first 7 points, Pritchard hurt the Raptors the most in the 3rd quarter with 19 of his 33 points and an impressive 6 of 6 from near the circle. Despite his 1m85, the Celtics leader is never afraid to take on the big boys.
“Sometimes you have to take what the defense gives you. I had a couple of easy assists, so that loosened up the defense a little bit.” Pritchard noted. “I was trying to limit the turnovers, which I think happened to me maybe once. So I move the ball, shoot when I can, and then the third quarter comes, the defense stretches a little bit, the field opens up more and then you have to make those shots.”
Even when the Raptors put 2m06 Scotty Barnes on his back? “I’ve played so many times against players that size who defend really hard. When I see that and it’s one-on-one defense, I know exactly what shots to go for.” he concludes. “That’s not to say he won’t challenge me – he’s a very good defender at times and they can outplay me – but I know what areas to hit, what places to target, how to fade and give myself a chance to score.”
